course at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club,
which has a rating of 73.2. Water hazards can
be found on 12 holes, providing competitive
play among a beautiful backdrop with views of
the Potomac River. For a more relaxed round,
White Plains Golf Course is an affordable and
well-maintained course with a putting green,
driving range, and snack shop.
TEST YOUR AIM
The natural beauty of Myrtle Grove Wildlife
Management Area provides the perfect
backdrop for mastering your mechanics and
sharpening your accuracy. Once home to a
Piscataway community, this forested area
features shooting, trap, and archery ranges and
is rich in wildlife, including white-tailed deer,
wild turkeys, quail, and other game species.

SMALLWOOD STATE PARK

See what bites at Sweden Point Marina
along Mattawoman Creek—you could reel in
largemouth bass, carp, cat昀椀sh, or perch. Fish
from the shoreline or boat launch, or snag one
of the 50 marina slips for a full day on the water.
Before you set off, stock up on ice, tackle, and
snacks at The General’s Store so nothing slows
your adventure. Mark your calendar for one of the
park’s annual Major League Fishing tournaments
and watch anglers compete for a large cash prize.

Endeavor Point, a tranquil Patuxent River
retreat with a rustic beach. Stop by the Pier
