Walter “Lefty” Nash, Sr. turned a small trailer into a
Charles County institution when he opened Lefty’s BBQ
in 1989. Drawing on his family’s time-honored cooking
traditions, Lefty’s hickory wood-smoked barbecue quickly
earned fans from Baltimore to D.C., all following the
irresistible aroma. Today, you can savor those same famous
昀氀avors at their Waldorf location just off Crain Highway.
Stop by Walls Bakery in Waldorf, the oldest bakery in
Charles County, for their “World Famous Walls chocolate
eclairs.” The legendary pastries are 昀椀lled with custard
pudding (made daily) and iced with chocolate.
Family-owned and operated Blue Dog Saloon and
Restaurant in Port Tobacco sources its ingredients
as close to the restaurant as possible, including its
well-known crab dip, crab cakes, and stuffed rock昀椀sh.
Make sure to ask the staff about the haunting ghost
legend of the Blue Dog’s namesake!
Sink your fork into the super lump crab cakes at The
Prime Street Grille in White Plains, an award-winning
steak and seafood restaurant that’s perfect for date
nights and celebrations.
Sit down for an authentic Persian meal of 昀氀avorful
kabobs, rice with saffron, and the best tea of your
life at Silver Skewers, a family-owned restaurant
beloved by the Waldorf community for over 25 years.
La Plata’s “high-class dive bar,” The RAD House,
has something for everyone! Enjoy live acoustic music,
big-screen sports, and friendly banter while sipping
on craft cocktails or a variety of craft beer.
Discover one of Waldorf’s newest local favorites at The
Remedy 20601, where handcrafted cocktails, 昀氀avorful
wings, specialty pizzas, and a welcoming atmosphere
create a gathering place for friends and family. Whether
you’re stopping in for lunch, enjoying live entertainment,
or unwinding after a day exploring Charles County, The
Remedy delivers great food, friendly service, and authentic
