Stuffed HAM
The question of stuffing with cabbage
or kale has been hotly debated for as
long as Southern Maryland families
have enjoyed this St. Mary’s original
dish. Typically served at holidays and
celebrations, these time-honored
recipes have been passed down for
generations, along with pride in each
family’s stuffing blend.
What began as a practical way to
extend a small basic ham into a
filling feast for your whole family has
become the signature dish of our
historic region. Indulge in this corned
ham delight in sliders, sandwiches,
and egg rolls, as well as on pizzas and
oysters at many of our local markets
and eateries around St. Mary’s.
DOCK & DINE
Chart a course along the water to one of the
riverfront eateries nestled along miles of natural
shorelines. Tie up your boat and come ashore
for fresh, local blue crabs, oysters, rockfish, and
more. Local marinas offer slips for overnight
stays, or just drop anchor in one of our scenic
inlets and stay to feast another day!
