IN MOUNTAIN MARYLAND
We love the idea of you joining us here in
the Mountainside to enjoy our abundant
nature and wild environment, but with
visitation comes stewardship.
We want to share Appalachian Mountain culture and
assets with generations to come, so here are a few ways
to be good stewards in our outdoors.
Carry extra trash bags
to take out any waste
you bring, as not all
places have trash
disposal options.
Leave natural objects
like rocks and plants
where they are to
preserve the ecosystem.
Clean shoes, kayaks,
and bike tires to prevent
spreading non-native
species, and buy wood
locally instead of
bringing it from home.
Respect wildlife by
observing from a distance,
not feeding animals,
and securing food while
camping. Keep pets on a
leash in public areas.
